We have two grown sons and raise German shorthaired pointers. When I'm not teaching, I'm most likely turkey-hunting or planning turkey-hunting trips. I'm looking forward to a great year!"

"Hello, my name is Mirna Mata. I am the Secretary in the Counselor's Office at RJHS. I've been married for 8 years and have 3 beautiful kiddos! (Leo, Luci and Livi). In my free time, I like to cook, bake, craft and spend time with my family. This will be my third year at RSD, but my first year being part of a school building. I look forward to helping staff and students throughout the year."

I graduated from Russellville High School in 2018, so being able to return to my alma mater is the best feeling. This year, I am most excited about growing as an educator and a person! Go Whirlwinds! Everyone at RJHS has been so welcoming and kind to me. RJHS truly has the best staff! I’m super excited to get to know each student and see what this year has in store! "

Our E.A.S.T. students have been working hard and cultivating a garden in the middle of our outdoor space at RJHS! They partnered with Flowers Etc. , Greenthumb Nursery, and Russellville Tractor Supply to gather materials. It has made the pad an inviting and welcoming space!

This week has been so fun! Teachers have been dressing up each day to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week 2023! Tuesday each content/department dressed in a different color, and yesterday was "ROCK your band t-shirt day"!

Any 8th or 9th grader interested in trying out for the Cyclone Baseball team for the 2023-2024 school year, please email Coach McCrotty at will.mccrotty@rsdk12.net for more information. Tryouts will be held on May 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. All players trying out must have a current physical.

Happy TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK to our AMAZING RJHS staff!
Students in Mrs. Mitchell’s Family & Consumer Sciences classes pose with their financial literacy certificates. Students completed seven financial literacy modules including banking basics, budgeting, and insurance with an average of 70% or higher to earn a certification.

2023 RJHS ACT Aspire Daly Schedule for 8th and 9th
Visitors from John Hopkins University and the Arkansas Department of Education visited RJHS recently to visit with teachers and administrators who have been participating in a year-long educational program called Boundless Learning. They visited Coach Jordan Duvall and Melissa Jackson's 8th-grade history class and were excited to see the teachers working together and students learning.
